First Winter Series of 2010 has been consigned to the history books.
A great turn out on a bit of a mucky night....7 runners took off on the "set-go" but 8 finished ( thanks for the head start Joan). It certainly seemed, pre-race, that we would be in for a head wind for the entire inward stretch..didn't turn out that way. The worst of the weather occured on the way out as we ran through Papigoe and into Staxigoe - not what was expected at all.
Anyway Stuart Anderson took off, disappearing road-runner style in a cloud of dust on his way to a very fast time. The rest of us sorted ourselves out and got on with posting up a decent marker for the months ahead. Stuart's wife, Lindsay, also ran really well......lots more to come from both of them. Belated well done to Laura Laing who competed in her first half marathon (Aviemore) on Sunday....and turned out to give the 5 miles a bash tonight.
I was surprised and pleased at how good I felt.
Maybe less is more.
Times as follows...I'll post up the spreadsheet next month
Stuart Anderson 31.33
Joan Henry 35.44
Gordon Smart 36.00
Kevin Farmer 38.29
Brian Grant 39.10
Lindsay Anderson 41.02
William Sutherland 42.53
Laura Laing 47.37
